It is indeed a pleasure for me to welcome you to the website of National Police Academy, a premier police training institution of Pakistan. The Academy provides specialized training to newly recruited Assistant Superintendents of Police and is also responsible for in-service training to the senior management of all police forces. We constantly endeavour to improve the quality of our training courses to ensure that the police officers are fully equipped to meet the challenge of modern day policing.  Protection of vulnerable segments of the society constitutes an important theme in our training policy.

Life at NPA

ICC

Government of Pakistan conducts Central Superior Service (CSS) Exams annually through its designated department Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC). Selected candidates are trained at the Civil Services Academy in the training known as Common Training Programme which is followed by specialized training of the respective cadres in different designated institutions. National Police Academy (NPA) is the specialized police training institute of Pakistan which trains Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs). Initially, ASPs were trained in Basic Courses which subsequently replaced with Initial Command Course (ICC) after 1998.

Initial Command Course (ICC) is Specialized Training Programme (STP) designed for the new entrants of Police Service of Pakistan (PSP) or mid-level police managers which is spread over 18 months. This training consists upon four different phasis 1) Foundation; 2) Development; 3) Field Attachment & 4) Consolidation.

National Police Academy arranges variety of Capacity Building Courses on different policing subjects. These capacity building courses are attended by officers of 35 different police and law enforcement agencies/departments. Primarily, these courses are of 1-2 week’s duration. Resource persons having expertise on the subjects are invited to enlighten/educate the participants in these courses.

MID CAREER MANAGEMENT COURSE

Mid Career Management Courses at National Police Academy are envisaged at raising standards in operations by helping the police officers consolidate their experiences and help them analyze the best practices in developed countries in the light of the requirements of modern police management at the top level and ways to adopt them locally. The theme of the Programme is Strategy, Innovation and Optimized Management.
